RUFIJI RIVER DELTA (DELTA YA MTO RUFIJI)

The Rufiji River lies entirely within the African
nation of Tanzania . The river is formed by the
confluence of the Kilombero and Luwegu rivers .
It is approximately 600 kilometres (370 mi)
long, with its source in southwestern Tanzania
and its mouth on the Indian Ocean at a point
between Mafia Island called Mafia Channel. Its
principal tributary is the Great Ruaha River . It is
navigable for about 100 kilometres (62 mi).
The Rufiji is about 200 kilometres (120 mi)
south of Dar-es-Salaam . The river's delta
contains the largest mangrove forest in eastern
Africa.   

Rufiji ni mto mkubwa wa Tanzania. Chanzo iko
Tanzania ya kusini-magharibi katika maungano
ya tawimito ya Kilombero na Luwegu  Unafikia
Bahari Hindi kwa njia ya delta yake takriban 200
km kusini ya Daresalaam karibu  Urefu wa Rufiji ni takriban 600 km.
Tawimto mkubwa katika beseni yake ni Ruaha
Mkuu.. Delta ya mto ina msitu mkubwa wa mikoko  katika   mashariki ya Afrika.
